The next challenge is data collection. In Vietnam, land and factory buildings are often not privately owned by enterprises. This unique ownership structure makes obtaining third-party data from landowners or property owners the biggest bottleneck in the verification process. Faced with this situation, relying solely on office correspondence is insufficient; practical mediation and the connection with local resources are essential to truly overcome the data verification hurdle.
Finally, and this is the core of ISO 14064-1—data quality. We not only need to help clarify the ambiguities in Scopes 1, 2, and 3, but also ensure that the emission factors referenced are accurately aligned with the latest local regulations in Vietnam. This is the most important line of defense for companies to avoid compliance risks.
